How are the winners determined?
Winners for each category are selected strictly based on number of votes they receive.
Can I nominate/vote more than once?
No. You can only nominate one independent bookstore as well as vote for one independent bookstore.
What are the qualifications for nominating a bookstore?
There are only two qualifications:
Can I nominate a bookstore that just opened?
Of course! It doesn’t matter if they have been operating for a day or decades—if they are your favorite, let us know!

How will winners be announced?
Winners along with honorable mentions will be featured in a digital flipbook that is blasted on all Ingram Wholesale Services social media platforms and through press releases. We will also feature winners on this site on April 17, 2024.
Do I have to nominate/vote for my local independent bookstore?
No, you can nominate/vote for them regardless of whether or not they are your local bookstore.
Can I nominate/vote for independent bookstores outside of the US?
The IndieBookBuzz Awards are currently for USA based bookstores only.
What if I am not an Ingram Content Group customer?
That is okay! The awards are meant to celebrate ALL independent bookstores—not just the ones we work with.
Do bookstores have to pay to win?
Absolutely not! Winners are determined by fan’s votes only.

If I fill out the section about why I love my bookstore, where will my name be used (if I choose not to by anonymous)?
If you do want to have your name attached to your submission, we will feature it in the digital flipbook that announces the winners as well as our social media channels, blogs, and potentially other marketing materials related to the award. However, we will not use your name without your permission!
